- Check your gradebook and see if there are any activities without a grade. Did you complete everything? Did you receive a grade?
- Finish any activities or Rosetta Stone lessons that still need to be wrapped up.
- Double-check your RS work...remember, only the lessons that you complete and receive a check on will count. I will not accept any partial/in progress lessons, even if the grade is an 80.
- Calculate your average so that you will have a pretty good idea what is going to show up on your report card. Use this formula - (Total Points / 600) x 100 = Module 1 Grade. If it is lower than you were expecting, go back and make sure that you have submitted everything in the gradebook and received a grade.
- Check with me, if you have questions.
Today is the day...all Module 1 activities are due by midnight tonight.
Here's what you should be doing today:

Here's what this means for you: 1) Watch your deadlines...you have some RS checks due this week, as well as some other activities. If you want FULL CREDIT for your work, get it done by the posted deadline. 2) ALL work is due by midnight on Friday, September 28. I will be sending grades to your campus starting Monday morning of next week. 3) Check your course gradebook to make sure that you have completed all activities and received a grade. Several of you have reported having trouble over the past few days with the Rosetta Stone program...
I spoke with technical assistance this morning to try and troubleshoot some of the issues. I learned that a new feature of Rosetta Stone requires that students complete the speaking activities and components, which is good. I know that in the past, some have skipped these lessons and did not receive a penalizing grade. I learned today that Rosetta Stone technicians have closed this loophole very recently. As a result, if you launch the RS program without the mic/headset correctly set-up, the program will skip lessons/questions/screens that require speech. This is why some of you are receiving Xs for skipped lessons. Since some of you have had a tough time over the past couple days, I am extending Wednesday's deadline through the weekend. I've emailed your campuses with the same information so that everyone is up to speed. Keep working hard and let me know if you have any questions. Have a great weekend! ![]() Friday marks the end of the 3-week grading period...What does this mean? It means that I will be calculating grades to send to your school for progress reports at the end of this week. The magic number for the Module 1 halfway point is 300. If you want to figure your current average use the following formula: Current total points / 300 x 100 = Your Grade! If you want to earn more points before the Friday deadline, you might want to complete some other activities, such as the glossary, writing activity, or even the next RS check. You have a Rosetta Stone Check that is due TODAY, so be sure to get your lessons completed and submitted. ![]() You have a Rosetta Stone Check due tomorrow... What does this mean for you? 1) You need to have 20 total lessons completed in the required Rosetta Stone Level/Unit. Remember...the lessons don't count, unless they are complete (with a check mark). 2) Submit your information by clicking on the Rosetta Stone Check [Due September 12]. Follow the directions exactly and submit. Yes...you are going to have to do a little math. (It will only hurt for a moment) ;) Let me know if you have questions, really. I want to help you get this done. ![]() Week 3 Reminders: 1) Gradebook - Check your online gradebook. I graded over the weekend, so your points should show up. If you don't see any points for your discussion posts or RS Check, you didn't complete those activities. I need you to check with me. 2) Deadlines - You have some deadlines this week...check the course activities and mark you calendar. If you aren't sure what is due, check with me. 3) Progress Reports - The 3-week period ends Friday. I will be grading and sending progress report grades at the end of this week, so you need to work hard and earn your 300 points. Finally, check with me if you have questions...that's what I'm here for! :) ![]() The first deadline, Rosetta Stone Check, was due last night at 11:00 PM...did you get your RS lessons finished and the information submitted?? I will checking RS reports and updating grades today. If you missed the deadline, you might want to contact me so that we can make a plan to get you back on track. You have a couple more deadlines as we wrap up week 2: Discussion Board will close Friday, September 7 (midnight) Orientation Activity bonus points will only be available through Friday, September 7. Sooo, if you want those bonus points, you better get that done in the next couple days. Let me know if you are having trouble settling into your virtual classroom... |
